Hi GML, I am 2 weeks post MOHs surgery for x2 infiltrative BCC’s on my face; one on my nose and one on my upper lip. Both were 3 years or so old and one is the morphoeic type. My nose currently has a concave appearance where the Bcc was removed and I am already worried about it; my face looks different.

Knowing that your MOHS operation was a success and has healed is the main thing. The resulting scar be it from a graft or skin flap seems to be another challenge.

I find this is so with the skin flap following the MOHS for the infiltrative BCC ,on the nose in April. I do know that eventually it will settle down in about 18 months and can contact the ... I have an appointment shortly to discuss treatment for an infiltrating bcc on the scalp. I am having difficulty deciding between a wide excision or MOHs which may have to be done privately. Just joined. I’m booked in for a BCC normal excision on Monday.
I just heard about MOHs as a method, from googling BCC removal last week. I saw the surgeon yesterday and asked why I hadn’t been considered for MOHs. He said that it is used for face and ears but in the scalp the aesthetic outcome is considered less important. A lady who had MOHs surgery the same day as me, on a BCc in the nasal crease like mine, coincidentally, only needed a cheek flap and when I saw her 4 weeks later heading for her separation surgery I couldn’t even see it at first, and that was knowing where to look.
